There is an urgent need to send funds to our friends in Haiti.

A cholera outbreak has happened in the remote communities of Bois Kouleve and Garette. They have no water well in the area to provide clean water. Cholera is a bacterial disease usually spread through contaminated water. It can cause severe diarrhea and dehydration. Cholera can quickly become fatal. In the most severe cases, the rapid loss of large amounts of fluids and electrolytes can lead to death within hours.

Each day, local women leave their homes at 4:00 am each day with 5-gallon buckets to collect clean water for their families. They return with full buckets after nine hours of walking in extreme heat on rough terrain.

How can we help? We hope to raise $5,000 to help fund digging for a water well in Bois Kouleve and Garette. On Sunday, August 6, we will host a Walk for Water fundraiser during services. Please prayerfully consider how you can give. Your support WILL help save a life.

We want to raise $10,000.

$10,000 will fully fund the water well. A generous donor has stepped up to give the first $5,000 towards the well!

The equipment needs to drill down into the ground 200 feet for water. BY our math, to reach our $5,000 goal, a donation of $25 will get us a foot closer to water.
